During this fly-in Gorillas & tree-climbing lions safari you get to search for two of Uganda’s great highlights; the mysterious mountain gorillas and the tree-climbing lions of Ishasha. Fascinating animals and beautiful sceneries will impress you. Save time by flying from Entebbe to the airfield by Kihihi.
THIS FLY-IN GORILLAS & TREE-CLIMBING LIONS SAFARI INCLUDES:
- Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
- Ishasha part of Queen Elizabeth National Park
DAY 1: FLY-IN FROM ENTEBBE TO KIHIHI & TRANSFER TO BWINDI
You take a flight from Entebbe airport to Kihihi and then our driver picks you from the airstrip for the beautiful journey to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Along the way to the lodge, we make brief stops for scenery to take in the beauty of this area, as the landscape changes from villages and cultivated hills on to jungle covered mountains. The first night of the fly-in gorilla trekking and tree-climbing lions safari is spent in Bwindi mountains with beautiful views.
DAY 2: GORILLA TREKKING DAY
Start the day with early breakfast before setting off for the highlight of Gorilla trekking. Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is the home to the forest giants that are cousins to human beings, the mountain gorillas. Together with a specialized guide you head out into the jungle for an unforgettable experience. The trek takes you through beautiful nature and you finally get to spend one hour in the area where the gorillas are. Besides the gorillas this Impenetrable Forest is full of birds, butterflies and plant species plus forest hog, forest elephants, statungas and dikers. After the trekking your guide takes you down from the mountains to the lodge just at the edge of the Ishasha part of Queen Elizabeth NP.
DAY 3: SEARCH FOR TREE-CLIMBING LIONS IN ISHASHA DURING MORNING AND EVENING GAME-DRIVES
It is now time for the second highlight of this gorilla trekking and tree-climbin lions safari, a day dedicated to search for tree-climbing lions. The southern Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park is known for its tree-climbing lions. In the early morning you head out on to the savannah to search the big fig-trees for lions as well as hopefully see topis, elephants and buffaloes. After the morning game-drive we head back to the lodge for lunch and some relaxation to later in the afternoon go back to the park to hopefully get some more good sightings.
DAY 4: FLY-OUT TO ENTEBBE
After breakfast we make the journey to the airfield and then you catch the flight to Entebbe as you conclude your fly-in gorilla and lions safari in Uganda.
