Heading south there is a boat-cruise on the Nile to see hippos in Murchison Falls National Park and chimpanzee trekking in Kibale Forest National Park. Continuing on with a village walk to see life in Uganda’s countryside amd tree-climbing lions in Ishasha. Next is the great highlight of Mountain Gorilla trekking and then finishing off with seeing zebras in Lake Mburo National Park.

DAY 1: ARRIVAL IN ENTEBBE FOR OUR 14 DAYS UGANDA TOUR & SHOEBILL STORK SEARCH IF TIME ALLOWS
We pick you at the airport for our 14 days Uganda tour full of close to nature experiences. Then transfer to the lodge and relax after the journey. If time allows we can head over to the close by Mabamba Swamp for a search for the prehistoric looking Shoebill Stork.
DAY 2: JOURNEY NORTH VIA ZIWA RHINO SANCTUARY
After an early breakfast we set off on the journey that will take you to Kidepo Valley National Park. It’s a long journey so todays target is to spend the night in the town Kitgum. The drive takes you past Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary where a stop is made for a walk following the Rhinos. At Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary they are working to reintroduce rhinos in Uganda. Later driving north, lunch in Gulu/ enroute, Uganda’s second biggest town. After this continue to the town Kitgum to spend the night.
DAY 3: TRANSFER MEETING WITH KARAMOJONG PEOPLE AND EVENING GAME-DRIVE IN KIDEPO VALLEY NATIONAL PARK
After breakfast set off for Kidepo valley National Park, the first park of this 14 days Uganda tour. In a landscape of vast plains and semi-arid savannah framed by jagged mountains and wooded hills, Kidepo is one of the wildest and most spectacular reserves in Africa. On arrival before entering the park have a cultural experience that will bring you into contact with Karamojong peoples at Karenna and Kapedo. Meet the local elders and have an opportunity to interact with them. They will show you the kraals, the grinding stones and many more interesting items.
DAY 4: A DAY TO EXPLORE KIDEPO VALLEY NP, MORNING & EVENING GAME-DRIVES
The morning-game drive takes us towards Natabba gate area for the cheetahs and other lower grassland mammals. The landscape throughout Kidepo Valley national park is studded with small hills, rocky outcrops and inselbergs from which one can obtain stunning views in all directions enjoy panoramic views of the Narus River Valley and photographic opportunities of wildlife from all corners. An evening game drive along the Narus River Valley for game Viewing and photography of Elephants, herds of Buffaloes, Jackals, Jackson’s Hartebeest, Klipspringer and possibly Lions.
DAY 5: TRANSFER TO LODGE BY MURCHISON FALLS NP
Today we head from one Savanna Park to another. In the morning we start the journey to the lodge by Murchison Falls national park. Having lunch along the way & taking stops to stretch when we see something interesting.
DAY 6: GAME DRIVE, TOP OF THE FALLS AND BOAT-CRUISE ON THE NILE IN MURCHISON FALLS NP
Set off for an early morning game-drive in the park. Undoubtedly you here have the chance to see fascinating wildlife like Big cats hunting, Elephants, Giraffes and Buffalos. In fact the checklist of mammals in Murchison Falls NP reaches 76. Visit the top of the falls for an impressive sight of the world’s most powerful waterfall. We then continue browsing the Drive circuits to the Delta point for a cocktail of Birds and mammals. Afterwards we enjoy lunch and some relaxation at the lodge. Then in the afternoon go for the 3 hour boat ride to the base of the falls where you get to see the Hippos, Nile Crocodiles, Elephants and a variety of beautiful bird species along the banks. If you are a keen birder this might be your magnet to catch them.
DAY 7: TRANSFER TO KIBALE FOREST NP
After breakfast we transfer towards Kibale Forest NP as we continue our 14 days Uganda tour. It’s a long drive with our target to have lunch in Fort portal. A punctuation of stopovers at sceneries like the Rift valley escarpment on Lake Albert – typical African village setup in the far countryside and tea plantations along the drive offer us chances of stretching. Then we check in late afternoon to an area with an amazing display of primates and lovely scenery.
DAY 8: CHIMPANZEE TREKKING IN KIBALE FOREST & TRANSFER TO QUEEN ELIZABETH NP
Head into the forest of the Primate city of Kibale in the morning for chimpanzee trekking, the first great ape you will meet during this 14 days Uganda wildlife safari. This is a three hour experience. Kibale Forest national park is a rainy forest and a home to over 1500 Chimpanzees. During the trek you have the chance to see the chimps close up and capture shots of our closet cousins in the jungle in there frenzy exciting moods as they are grooming, building relationships, bringing up young ones, think and sharing food, plus rare bird species following them. In the forest 9 different species of Monkeys are found so you have chances of seeing red colobus, red tailed monkey and bush babies on a great day. Afterwards we transfer to the lodge by Queen Elizabeth NP via the crater lakes region.
DAY 9: VILLAGE WALK AND BOAT CRUISE IN QUEEN ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARK
In the morning we go for a guided village walk in the community close by the lodge. Here we visit a farmer growing cacao and vanilla, walk through fields and get an idea of how life in the Ugandan countryside is like. After lunch it is time for the boat-cruise on the famous Kazinga channel in Queen Elizabeth NP. This is a 36kms channel linking Lake George to lake Edward. On the banks you can see Hippopotamuses, Nile Crocodile, elephant and Warthog.
DAY 10: TRANSFER TO ISHASHA & GAME-DRIVE
After breakfast we start the adventurous journey down to the southern Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth NP. The road goes through the park and if we are lucky we see elephants, monkeys, beautiful birds or even lions along the way. We then head into Ishasha for a game-drive to search for Ishasha’s famous tree-climbing lions as well as leopard and other wildlife.
DAY 11: MORNING GAME-DRIVE IN ISHASHA & TRANSFER TO BWINDI MOUNTAINS
In the morning we get another chance to search for the tree-climbing lions and see herds of topi, buffaloes and elephants in the scenic Ishasha sector. We head back to the lodge for lunch and then start the journey towards Bwindi Mountains. This drive takes us from the savanna, via cultivated hills on to the impressive jungle covered mountains of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.
DAY 12: GORILLA TREKKING DAY- BWINDI IMPENETRABLE NATIONAL PARK
Bwindi is the home to the forest giants that are cousins to human beings, the mountain gorillas. Today you head into the jungle for the great highlight of this safari in Uganda, your gorilla trekking experience. You will be taken in a group by a specialized guide into the jungle for your gorilla trekking adventure. Trek through the beautiful nature and spend one hour with the gorillas, an unforgettable experience. This Impenetrable Forest is also full of birds, butterflies and plant species plus forest hog, forest elephants, statungas and dikers. After the trek your guide picks you and takes you to the lodge by Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth NP to cut the travel time next day.
DAY 13: TRANSFER TO LAKE MBURO & GAME-DRIVE
After a breakfast close to nature we continue the 14 days Uganda holiday by making the journey to Lake Mburo national park. We aim to reach the lodge in time for lunch. In the afternoon we head in to the park and game drive for view of zebras, topis, warthogs, giraffes, cape buffaloes and impalas. If we are lucky we catch a sight of a leopard.
DAY 14: EARLY MORNING SAFARI WALK AND TRANSFER TO ENTEBBE AIRPORT
Get early up for a safari walk by the lodge chance to see zebras, waterbucks, birds and buffaloes in their day break jungle life! Afterward you go back to the lodge for breakfast before starting the transfer towards Entebbe. Along the way we make a stop by the Equator, where you can have the experience of standing with one foot on either side of the southern and northern hemisphere. Connect to Entebbe where your guide drops you in time for an evening flight as we have reached the end of your 14 days Uganda tour (or add an extra night to fly the next day).

Accommodation: In general accommodation mentioned in the itinerary is good places on budget to mid-range level (with the exception of luxury safaris). The accommodation can be adapted to your price range of budget, mid-range or luxury. Of-course a mix is also possible.
